A Conversation with Annie Ridout

Episode 4 of Everyday Burnout Conversations shares conversation with Annie Ridout.

In this episode, Annie and I chat about her recent break from work following a brush with exhaustion and burnout. We discuss gender roles, the mental load and the need for clear communication when sharing the family/household tasks with your partner.

Annie is a journalist, author, speaker, podcaster, entrepreneur and coach.

Annie is the founder and editor of the digital parenting platform The Early Hour and the online business platform The Robora. She’s the author of The Freelance Mum and her latest book, Shy. Along with being a mum to three young kids.

Annie gives some great advice to fellow mums on how to reduce their expectations of themselves and how to embrace a little more self-care in their day.

Did you know… according to a Boston Consulting Group study, nearly 1 in 4 working women in the UK feel unable to manage their stress. Studies show that mums do an additional 31 hours of housework each week, than before the pandemic hit -thats an average of 12 hours more than fathers.

Please like, comment and subscribe to the podcast wherever you listen. I truly appreciate your feedback and support, as it helps these fab podcast conversations reach a little further.

Burnout, exhaustion, and mental health struggles can really isolate you. And the one true thing I needed on my lowest of low days was to not feel so lonely. Please share this episode with someone who could benefit from hearing the stories of others.
